Hi, me and my fiancee want to get married end of Feb. or start of March. We need a ceremony area in southern Colorado, and everything that goes with a wedding; flowers, dress, tux, cake, photos, etc. Were going to have it small, around 10-15 people. Only problem is we only have about 2,000 for all of it to spend. We had more but stuff came up where we paid a lawyer 1,500, bills 500.00, etc. Can anyone help me on how to plan this or where they might reccomend in colorado springs, manatu srpings, or around an hour from there where i can maybe go and it will provide most set up things for the wedding. This is our first wedding and i have no clue how to go about this with this amount to spend. We dont have any money left for a honeymoon, so i would like to have a nice wedding at least. thank you
katie

Hi Katie -
Unfortunately, we do not offer any state specific advice regarding weddings however, you can look through previous posts to see how others have saved money and planned a wedding on a strict budget. Most of the past responses can be used for a wedding at any location.

Hello, I am also in the COS area. I thought I could give you a couple of ideas. I was in a wedding last April and they had it in Garden of the Gods. It was free to have it there you just have to go on the city's website to print out a permit form and fax it to them. They had the reception at a city recreation center. It was not the most visually stunning facility but it only cost $25 an hour. However with the amount of people you will have, I think that Guiseppe's downtown would probably be a good choice. My fiance and I are going to have our rehearsal dinner there next April and they are pretty reasonable. They will make custom menu's for you starting at 16.50 per a person including tax or you can allow people to order off the regular menu.
As far as flowers, I will be ordering my flowers from Samsclub.com and will be able to make all the bridal party flowers for less then $150. For the wedding I was in last April, they just went to Samsclub the night before and bought some roses which are like 2 dozen for $15 or so and we made them ourselves. They actually turned out really nice.
I doubt that with the limited amount of guests you will have dancing and stuff but there is always an Ipod and speakers or CDs. As far as cake, Walmart makes them. A two tier cake is like $70.
Lastly, one tip as far as the honeymoon. Last April, the couple did not really have any money for a honeymoon so they went up to Cripple Creek for the Weekend. They told them that they were on their honeymoon and their room and meals were comped. Also, they rented a car here in town and were given a Lincoln towncar as a free upgrade, again since they were on their honeymoon.
I hope this can help or can give you some ideas.
