Need to know if my wedding idea is tacky

Please give me some advice and let me know if my wedding idea is tacky. I want to have a nice wedding on a small budget, but still be able to get our families together and it be fun for all.

My fiance's grandfather is a preacher and will perform the ceremony at about 4:00 p.m. or so in his small church in the small town of Ennis, TX. The plan is to have the reception outside behind the church. We will rent tents, tables and chairs and have decorations. Then we will serve a buffet style barbecue meal. I was also thinking about having a bounce house and grill hot dogs for the kids. We both have big families with lots of kids and this will keep them entertained. It seems this sounds more like a picnic than a wedding reception. I still plan to have the same wedding traditions, like throwing the bouquet, wedding cake, etc. Is this a good idea? We have both been married before and, therefore, have told our families that we will take care of all costs on our own. Therefore, we are working with a small budget. Thank you for any advice or suggestions you may have.

Terri

Hi Terry:

Your idea seems well planned and fun. Not all weddings have to be in a formal setting with fine china and ornate decorations. You can have a wonderful affair without spending a lot of money.
