I am wondering if it is a good idea to wear a second hand dress to save money? My MOH had given me her dress and really wants me to wear it and it fits perfect but I am very unsure if I should wear it.
TIA

Dear Della:
It really depends on three things: 1 - whether you are comfortable wearing a gown that is not new; 2 - the shape the gown is in (i.e.: no snags, pulls, etc.); 3 - the fit of the gown on you. If it is in good shape, you like it and it compliments your figure nicely, then go for it.

Another consideration is whether she wants the gown back and if you want to have a dress you can save and/or pass on. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

Well, she doesn't want the dress back; she wants me to save it for my daughter. I am torn in two. I like her dress but I want a new one that has never been worn before.
Someone had mentioned to me that using a dress after someone is bad luck if the marriage didnt last 7 years. Is that true?

I've never heard of that however, I do not subscribe to superstition.
This is a personal decision you must make. It seems as though you may be looking for a gracious way out of accepting your friend's offer. If you do not want to use her dress then just tell her that you found a dress you love - but thank her for her generosity.
