Tips for planning a wedding on 5K budget

Hello! My fiance and I have just set our wedding date for May 2010. We will be planning an at-home wedding; we have very large property set in the hills, lots of oak trees, on the other side of the hill is the beach. We plan on having less than 50 people attend. We want a creative way to save as much money as possible. Our 5k budget includes a honeymoon. I am hoping to do more of an after-dinner ceremony and reception, with desserts, snacks, drinks and, instead of dancing, we'd like to have karaoke. So I suppose about 8pm for the ceremony. Is this crazy? I have never been to a ceremony past 6pm and I have found no guidelines for this kind of ceremony/reception idea. Help!

This would work for those who can stay up late. Those who are older or have children, most likely, wouldn't be able to stay or attend. Another option would be to host this earlier in the day when guests would expect only desserts, like 2 pm.
