Using wedding decorations from previous weddings

My wedding is being held at a resort outside and I'm having trouble figuring out cost effective ways to decorate the gazebo. Would it be distasteful if I asked the resort about previous weddings' decor? This could help another bride/groom as well as myself. What happens with the decor anyway if it's not rented? It's usually trashed I believe.

No it certainly would not be distasteful for you to ask them. They probably have a photo book that would help with the visuals.
