When to start pplanning my wedding? Is 2 years ahead too early?
I am a college student and just recently got engaged, my fiancee and I have disscussed our date and have decided on august of 07 so we have plenty of time to save up and have the wedding of our dreams. Is it too early to start finding my dress and planning decorations?, or am I jumping the gun?

You may want to secure your ceremony and reception areas before thinking about decorations and your dress. You have plenty of time to find a dress and after the first of the year many shops will have sales. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
I'm glad to see other people have long engagements as well. I got engaged in December 2003 and our wedding will be June 10, 2006. I remember when I first got engaged that it felt like an eternity would pass before the wedding. I did start shopping right away. I never bought or permanently booked anything until a year hit, but it never hurts to stop looking around. I know that I have found a lot of things just because I have looked ahead. My dress, for instance, is going to be $300 off just because I looked in enough time to buy the dress on sale. Also, one place I considered having our reception at has a 3 year waiting list, so something like that, if you are serious about having it there, you would need to book pretty soon. But that's only if you are thinking about anything like that. Other than that, sit back, relax, and enjoy your engagment before any stress sets in....
I am also in the same dilemma as you. My boyfreind and I recently got engaged as well. We are both in college and will have to save for about a year and 8 months. I agree with her about the site, especially if you are on a budget. Looking around for dresses and decorations is fun, even if you don't decide on anything right now. Plus the more time you have to look, the better your chances of finding a deal. I am just enjoying being engaged. I say GO ahead..have fun...what can it hurt?
