I am at my wits end. My mother raised me catholic however I am not a regular church goer. Since her children have grown neither is she. My fiancee's parents have beautiful gardens where my dream wedding could take place, however my mother refuses to speak of it because it is not a catholic church wedding. I went so far as to find a priest who will marry us there, but she says it will not be recognized. I love my mother but her and my father are paying for the wedding and I feel like I have no say on where I marry the man I love so much. My fiancee's family doesn't care where we get married, and my family is making me feel like they are pressuring me to get married at their home. I just don't know what to do. My fiancee really does not want to get married in the catholic church, and I respect and understand his point of view. Please tell me what I should do!!

Speak to your priest about getting a special dispensation for this outdoor wedding. Sometimes these marriages out of doors can be recognized by the Catholic church. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
