     Non-Catholics reading from the Bible

My fiance is Catholic and I am Lutheran. We will be marrying this year in a Catholic Church. We have three family members that we would like to participate in our ceremony, my Godmother, his Godfather and an Aunt that I am very close to. Only one of these three is Catholic, his Godfather. I was part a friend's wedding once and was told that I could not read from the Bible in the Catholic Church because I am not Catholic. Is this true? If so, is the Bible the only thing they are prohibited from reading from.(i.e. can they read prayers, poems, etc)? Thank you.
