     laos wedding

Our son is engaged the a woman from Laos. Her family tells us that it is the Laos tradition that they do not pay for their daughters wedding. Is this true?

Dear Ed,

It really doesn't matter these days, because even here parents are no longer financially responsible for their children's weddings.

Whatever you or the bride's parents give your children is a gift.

Best wishes,
