     After a marriage blessing ceremony

Hi there,

I would like to have a marriage blessing ceremony at a Catholic church in the near future. I am still deciding whether to invite guests, or to have only a few family members in attendance. If I invite guests, what am I expected to do after the ceremony - is it appropriate to have cake and tea at our house, or is something more elaborate required?

Thanking you for your time!

Dear Milli,

If this is a bench mark anniversary, it would be very appropriate to have a party. Even so, it is acceptable to have a party if this is what you want. But, nothing is 'required'.

Best wishes,
