I have been married for 10 years. My husband & I, along with our families, want to do a "real wedding". We got married at the courthouse 10 yrs. ago with no family around. My dad wants to walk me down the isle and our friends & families want to be a part of this "real wedding". How do I go about doing this? Thank you for your time in this matter. mlrjr

Re: [mlrjr96] How to renew wedding vows?
[In reply to]
Dear Mlrjr,
Well, you are already married. So, even though you married in a court house, that was a 'real wedding'. You may renew your vows and host a ceremony with many of the elements of a wedding. But, to host an event that mirrors a wedding is in bad taste.
One reason is because it appears as if you are creating a gift giving situation. Plus it appears to many as if you just want to dress up and receive gifts. This is not your intention, I'm sure.
So, this should be planned very carefully to avoid appearing improper. Please read through the many posts related to vow renewals and this article concerning the etiquette involved with vow renewal: vow renewal etiquette.
