I have four children ranging from 15 to 2. During our vow renewal ceremony I would like to have my boys walk side by side with me as I am walking down the aisle, is that okay? Also, I would like to have my two daughters walk ahead of me as a flower girl and a junior bridesmaid or attendant (sorry don't know what would be the proper word at a renewal), is this okay as well? I am not having anyone else in the wedding, just inviting them to celebrate with us.

Dear Including Children,
Actually, this is perfect. We don't include attendants for vow renewals. But, when we include our children as (sort of) attendants, it is sweet and ...well, perfect. This is a ceremony about family and renewed commitments. So, including our children is very appropriate. You are all family.

Oh good. I didn't want any faux pas on that. I am looking so forward to this in August and want a simple elegant renewal for our faith and our family. Thank you for responding about this. I appreciate it a lot.
