Parents renew vows at children's wedding?

We are getting married Oct. of this year and we want to do something special for our parents. We would like to surprise them with renewing their wedding vows. I need help with how to work it in to our wedding - if it is even able to be done. We are just clueless. Any suggestions?? ThanksSmile

Dear Generous Bride,

It sounds sweet, but could embarrass the parents. This is supposed to be your wedding and if it turns into a family affair, it could be confusing to your guests and embarrassing for the. They may not like the spot light. Plus, I wouldn't know where to begin with the planning.

Perhaps you could do something very special for them at the reception, such as a special speech.

Best wishes,

I agree with Rebecca. Plus, your parents may not want to renew or, if they do, they may want to plan and write their vows. This is a very intimate sort of event - one that should be planned by the couple IF they choose to do so.

It was a very sweet and unselfish thought though.
