Reception after religious blessing of our marriage

We got married in a court room three years ago, never had the religious ceremony. My husband and I are planning on having a religious blessing of our marriage on our 10 year anniversary. Would a big reception after this be appropriate? I've read through most of the posts but didn't see any questions on just a religious ceremony. Thanks for the help. Cool

Dear Snyc,

There are many references to the religious aspect of the vow renewal in these posts.

Many have their weddings blessed in the church. But, these are still the same as the vow renewal. All of the etiquette is the same. In fact, it is supposed to be a small family affair.

You may have a large anniversary party after your vow renewal. Neither event should mirror a wedding or reception.

Best wishes,
