Renew Wedding Vows At 5 Years

Hello ladies.

I hope I'm not repeating, I have looked through most of the post and didn't see anything exactly like this. I've seen that so many of you are great at this advice and I hope you can help me.

I am 25 years old. My husband is 29. We got married 4 years ago (Jan 10th) at the court house. I was pregnant and we didn't want a big ceremony. Plus, this is my second marriage, and my first wedding was a huge all out event, so I really didn't care about that again.

I recently found out that my husband regrets not having the ceremony in a church and having his friends there. So my question is, Is it too soon at 5 years to have a vow renewal? Would people think this is dumb?

We've been through SO much together in our short 5 years. It is amazing that we are still committed to each other and our marriage. We've had 2 miscarriages, no living children, which took us down a hard road that almost lead to divorce 2 years ago. Now, we are more in love with each other and our marriage is stronger than ever.

Are there any suggestions you could give me? Any definite Do's or Do Not's?

Thank you so much for any help or suggestions you can give me.

~Lendy

Dear Lendy,

A vow renewal, especially when combined with an anniversary, can appear proper and positive. Please read more about vow renewal etiquette.

Best wishes,
