     Renewal wedding wording

What is the correct wording when someone reads off "We are gathered here....etc". We're going to have a Hawaii themed renewal, but no cake. I hope that is OK.

I am just stumped as to what our friend will say when he announces us, and why we are there. Thank you for the wonderful advice so far!

No Cake??? Frown

The vow renewal ceremony is typically very informal so he could say something like - we are gathered here today to witness Ann and Joe renew their wedding vows.

Please read this page on vow renewal ceremonies for more information.

Thank you for the fast reply! OK, so instead of a glamorous cake, how about a couple large one level sheet cakes? (I think that is what they are called) We are inviting 80-100 people. But we didn't want a "grand cake" because we had a wonderful one for our wedding. Plus it will have to be transported an hour from home, down a bumpy road to the island. We'll have some cakes! Wink

Thanks for the link. You are so helpful!

Heh - I was kidding - but I DO like cake. Shocked

You certainly don't have to have a cake but you can have an anniversary type cake. Guests to these sort of events usually expect a cake of some sort.

A Hawaiian themed vow renewal sounds great. Enjoy.
