Renewing Vows Before or After Anniversary

My DH and I were marreid on 12/23/05 in a church with just my children, aunt & uncle. I have a father, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and we have numerous other family & Friends. I am his 5th wife and he is my 3rd husband.

My DH wants us to renew our vows around our 5th anniversary.... Since it is the day before X-mas, I am thinking about doing it either a few weeks before our 5th or after the first of the next year after our 5th.

I guess the question is which is more appropriate? We would hold the ceremony and "reception" in the same location.

This is a personal choice. Renew on the date that is best for you.
