     Renewing vows after 5 years

I would like to renew our wedding vows this winter. This will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary. I was wondering if this was too soon. Our first wedding was small. We only had about 30 guests, and the ceremony was only 12 minutes long because I didn't know much about weddings at the time. My husband and I really feel now that we have grown together in love and understanding of what true love and comittment is, and I would like to renew that comittment. But my only concern is that people may think that it is too soon, that we should wait until 10 years. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

Dear Renewing,

5 years is fine, yet 10 would be better. It is important to plan this well in order for it to be viewed positively. As you say, this is a ceremony to renew your commitment. It would be nice for your guests to view it as thus also.

Please read more about vow renewal etiquette.

Best wishes,
