     Suprise vow renewal?

Hello.

SmileMy parents 30th wedding anniversary is coming up and my two sisters and I are planning a surprise anniversary party on their behalf. It will be held at my house and it will, of course, be a surprise to both of my parents.

My parents did not have a lot of money when they got married so my sisters and I were hoping they could have a vow renewal ceremony right before the party.

Would it be inappropriate to keep the vow renewal ceremony a secret as well?

If it would be inappropriate, how could my sisters and I go about keeping the party a secret if they know about the vow renewal ceremony?

CrazyI am completely confused as to how I should go about this. Thank you for all of your help!

Again, thank you so much!!!

-Cindy

Dear Surprising Mom and Dad,

It wouldn't be proper to surprise your parents with this. They may not want the added attention.

A vow renewal is a very special event for a couple. So, if they want one, they would want to plan it. Please read more about vow renewal etiquette to learn more about the planning of this event.

I don't have a clue how to keep the party secret if they know about the vow renewal. You know your parents and we don't.

Best wishes,
