     Vow Renewal at 5 years

My husband and I were thinking of renewing our wedding vows on our 5th anniversary. It's not a BIG anniversary, but at our real wedding, my father was very sick and passed away a month later due to cancer. At the time of our wedding, my brother was overseas in Iraq and was unable to attend, as were several others in our family and friends.

My sister is actually the one who brought it up to me, but I wasn't sure if it was really appropriate since it will only be 5 years. Any help would be much appreciated!Smile

Although not a benchmark anniversary, I don't see why you couldn't renew your vows at the 5th year mark. As long as you're not trying to mirror a wedding or, as some other brides have put it, "have a real wedding", then you should be perceived positively. Remember that vow renewals are not weddings and are not gift giving events.
