I am new to the group, and my husband and I plan to renew our wedding vows on the 10 year anniversary in October. I am from Australia, by the way, so it will be springtime. We have already picked the venue, which will be Palm Beach, followed by nibblies at a local restaurant in that area. We can't wait. We are meeting with the marriage celebrant this week to talk about the ceremony we want. We just want the day to be special and something to remember. I am even going to find out if the restaurant has a video facility so we can play our wedding video while people are drinking, mingling and eating ;)
The one thing I want to know from others who are doing the same or have done the same thing is what you write on your invitations. I don't want the traditional we request your attendance for our vow renewal. I want something a bit more unique. Any suggestions?
Cheers
Michelle

I don't have a suggestion for wording of your invitations but I once made vow renewal invitations for a friend and what made them unique was that I took their first wedding photo (the were married 25 years!) and I colored the black and white photo (just in the area of the bride''s bouquet) and then made color copies which I pasted to the front of the cards. I took silver ribbon and glued it around the photo for a border and tied a bow at the bottom. I personalized them myself inside with some beautiful silver calligraphy ink. So, the actual invitation was the unique part - and the wording was somehow less important.
Maybe some of the other experts here have seen some unique wording. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

Hi Michelle,
As a Wedding Celebrant here in Seattle, I've seen a lot of different invitations for Vow Renewals. One couple put together a website and had people participate in many ways. Another couple put together a beautiful invitation with different photos of their 25 years together. There's no magic to this - it's all about "you" and what you want to express. Get creative, get funky and fun - celebrate big and be bold in your expression of commitment. Most people do not renew their vows - show your community of family and friends how much there is to celebrate...and that the extra effort is worth it. Annemarie Juhlian, Wedding Officiant & Minister
