Wearing dress blues for vow renewal

My husband and I are planning to renew our wedding vows in the backyard of our home in Texas during the month of June. We do plan to decorate some. We want to keep it simple. My husband is in the military and would like to wear his Dress Blues for the occasion. Would this be appropriate for renewing wedding vows? I, on the other hand, was looking more at something casual.

Thank you,

Christina MT

Dear Christina,

His Dress Blues are considered in the same formality as a tux. So, as good as he would look in them, they are a bit too formal. He should be in the same formality as you and your event. Just a nice shirt and slacks would be fine. A sport jacket would be a nice addition, but not essential.

Best wishes,
