Wording Invitations for Blessing fo the Marriage Ceremony
What is the correct invitation wording for a couple married 5.5 years who are having a church blessing and hosting it themselves. Also, what kind of insertions are appropriate? Can a reception card, and a response card and envelope be included? Is an inner envelope necessary?

Dear SailorsWifey,
This isn't a wedding and shouldn't appear to be. So, you wouldn't be as formal with your invitations as you would be with a wedding by using enclosures or inner envelopes. It isn't a reception; it is a party, an anniversary party, or a party to celebrate the blessing of your marriage. So, a reception invitation isn't necessary. You don't even need a response card.
It really shouldn't involve many guests, as a blessing of your marriage is more about the church blessing your vows or marriage. It is usually just family and a few close friends.

Thank you. I looked at the link you posted and I thought that the 'children hosting' invitation was nice. I assume it's for adult children, however would it be appropriate to use for young children. Our son will be 4.5 when we renew our vows. I was thinking it would be a cute way to include our son from the beginning.

Actually, it may appear a bit odd for a young child to appear to be the host. But, it is your call. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
