     children hosting vow renewal

My parents 25th anniversary is coming up in July of 09 and my parents are considering renewing their vows. I have been talking with my Mom and sisters and we girls think it would be nice to host it. You see my parents never had a wedding because they eloped and just started married life. We know it wouldn't be proper to have a wedding ceremony but after visiting several sites this is what I've come up with.

We could hold it at our church inviting the church (about 60 people), close friends, and family. We would keep it only semi-formal, possibly we kids would walk the aisle with them and then sit down. they would renew their vows with our pastor officiating. Afterwards we would go next door to the fellowship hall.

And that is where I am stuck. Should we have a meal? Or just light refreshments, such as meat and cheese platters, vegetable platters, etc? Mom has already decided she wants a cake. Not necessarily a wedding cake but something formal and pretty. What about decorations and invitations? And and all suggestions will be appreciated.
