including a memorial candle in vow renewal ceremony

My husband asked me to renew our vows six years ago. I told him I didn't think it was necessary, as we both knew how strong our love was for each other. A year later we lost our middle daughter in a car accident the night before our anniversary. Needless to say we no longer celebrate that anniversary day. My husband has since been acknowledging the day we became a couple as our anniversary. This year will be thirty years as a couple (27 years married). I have agreed to renew our vows. Is it appropriate to have a memory candle for my daughter during the ceremony and reception afterwards? I would like to donate to a charity in lieu of favors.

Very appropriate.

I believe your daughter would approve.

I think everyone will be moved.

I know I am.

Blessings and prayers for you, your daughter and your special day,
