My husband and I had been engaged for about a year before getting married. I was in the start of my wedding planning when we found out we were expecting a baby. Because I was pregnant and needed some sort of insurance we just went in front of a judge and got married without telling any family and friends. We have now been married for two years. For our third wedding anniversary I would like to suprise him with a renewal of our vows. We both wanted to have a wedding ceremony and now feel we missed that opportunity. His parents had a dinner for us and invited his family and their close friends, they all brought gifts. But they did not invite a single member of my family. My question is would it be rude or inappropriate to have a renewal of vows ceremony and celebrate it as if it were our wedding?

Dear Wants a Wedding,
I'm sorry. It can't be a wedding and the party will be more of an anniversary party. But, it can be very similar to a wedding. Here is an article concerning vow renewal etiquette. Best wishes, Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
