     renewing vows/validating marriage

My husband and I were married while I was pregnant with our first child. I am Catholic and he is Methodist. My church wanted to delay us getting married, but his had no problems marrying us and so we were married in his Methodist church.

We are planning on renewing our vows on our 5th wedding anniversary next year, but I am confused about something. In validating a marriage in the Catholic church, does that require a ceremony like a vow renewal or is it just a blessing that a priest would give us? I ask because if it is an actual ceremony, then we would use that as our vow renewal.

Anyways, thank you so much for any help and advice you can provide!
