Asking father to walk down the aisle for 3rd wedding

This is our third wedding. We will be paying for all of it. My father gave me away on my first, the second was a civil ceremony. This one will be a small private wedding with immediate family attending. I would like to ask him but not sure if it is appropriate. I am 37 soon to be 38. We would also like to word the invitations/announcements as sherry and scott not with my or his parents hosting. How many etiquette rules will we be breaking?

This is the third time you are marrying the same man or someone different?

You said "I would like to ask him but not sure if it is appropriate." But, I'm not sure what it is that you want to ask him.

Please clarify.

To clarify, I will be marrying a different man. This will be the third marriage for each of us.

I am unsure if it is ok to ask my father to walk me down the aisle.

We are planning to host the wedding ourselves, Wording the announcement for our very small wedding with only our names.

Are there any ettiquette rules I should follow?

Dear Soon to Be,

There will be no etiquette breaches here. Your father would simply be escorting you, not giving you away, as this is not how this is viewed any more. Plus, more couples are hosting their own weddings these days and issue their invitations. It can be: Your name and His name wish to invite... .

Best wishes,
