Asking for donation to vacation fund for second wedding
I am getting remarried this November to my fiancee who has never been married. We are both employed, make decent money, have stuff, so we are a little reluctant to ask for gifts. Since we don't feel that we need/want more items, is it ok to ask for donations to a vacation fund?
Thanks.

Although it would be improper for you to request any sort of gift, you could register for a honeymoon fund (among other things to give your guests choices) and pass the word of your registrations through friends and family or when asked. Never include this gift information within the wedding invitation. But, you could make mention of it on a personal wedding website, if you have one.
If you do receive any gifts you cannot use you should send a thank you note and then either return the gift to the store or, since you say you both are fortunate to make a decent salary and don't need gifts, donate it to charity.
