Bridal shower: Bride's second marriage, Groom's first

This will be my second wedding but my fiancee's first wedding. Is it appropriate to have another bridal shower? I wasn't planning on it, but my fiancee's family seemed very disappointed that there wouldn't be one. Another friend suggested just inviting my fiancee's family but I know my family would be upset at not being included, but I don't want people to think that I'm expecting another round of gifts?!?!?!

Dear Showered,

Those invited to the first shower may be invited to a second shower but are not expected to give gifts. So, please ask the person who hosts not to include any information about gifts. And, pertaining to hosts, close family should not host. That would appear as self serving.

Don't worry about the shower. Say yes as long as it is not family who wants to host.

Best wishes,
