     Dad getting remarried

Hi, I'm 24 and my father is getting remarried this weekend. I have been asked, as the maid of honor, to give a toast, and I really need some help. They've been together 4 yrs and my sister and I are getting 2 step brothers that we get along with. I live out of town, but know her, and I want to sound meaningful. Also, what kind of sentimental gift would be a good idea from the kids? Thanks!

Hello Stepkid:

While we wait for our toasting experts to respond you can get some good toasting suggestions here:

Wedding Toasts and Wedding Speeches

Wedding gifts should always be meaningful so I like to suggest a keepsake of some sort and I usually suggest making something yourself but, you probably do not have time to create a gift so have a look at some of these items:

Second Wedding Gifts

There are a few good keepsake items on that page.

Have a good time at the wedding.

This is an awesome opportunity for you to toast your Dad and his wife because you get the chance to wish him all the happiness he deserves!

Start with an opening introduction and let your dad and his new wife know how happy you are to share today with them, even though you live so far away.

Be sure to include in the middle how much your dad has meant to you, how you feel about having him in your life, and all the things you might not normally get a chance to say.

Then add some good things about his wife and how happy you are that they have found each other, and that you and your sister can finally have brothers to pick on!

Then finish your toast with a blessing or best wishes and a heartfelt "congratulations!"

Best of luck!
