     Destination 2nd wedding

We are going to Gatlinburg TN, alone, for what is the 2nd wedding for both of us. Will have a reception/dinner when we return. A few questions:

Send the reception invitations after we come back, right? What is the appropriate timing on this? I am thinking we may not have enough money to do it right away!

If we do a party for friends and family afterwards, is it appropriate to show our wedding video during the reception?

Dear Belated Reception,

You should send reception invitations at least six weeks before the event. It can be eight-nine weeks out.

Your reception can be scheduled any time within the first year. The farther out the date the more traditional elements you would want to weed out, only because it doesn't seem proper for a married couple--garter and bouquet toss, father/daughter dance...

Yes, it would be wonderful to show a video of your wedding. This is very positive.

Best wishes,
