My fiance has never been married, I was married and have 3 daughters. my first wedding was in front of a justice of the peace but i had a reception a month after the wedding. I also didn't have a shower. would it be wrong to have a wedding with the dress and all the trimmings?

No, it wouldn't be wrong to have a wedding and reception for a second marriage. However, to be sure that you're looking very appropriate to friends and family, please read more about second wedding etiquette.
