Is it technically a "second wedding"?

I am so glad to have found a forum where I can get advice from people who know what they're doing instead of other brides with a sense of entitlement. So please excuse me if I begin to pop out a ton of questions I can't find answers to in my Emily Post etiquette book.

I have never been married before. He has. Is this considered a second wedding? Thank you.

Dear Ariastar,

No, this isn't a second wedding for both of you. The only second or encore wedding rule I can think of that may affect you would be that if anyone gave your fiance a gift for his first wedding, they are not obligated to give one again.

Thank you for posting only one questions per post. And I'm glad you found us.

Best wishes,

...or, if anyone attended a bridal shower for your groom's first wedding, they are not obligated to give another shower gift.
