     My 2nd, His 3rd???

Although he has had 2 previous marriages and both fairly large ceremonies, I have only been married once. I was 19 and I was married at the Justice of Peace and there was no celebration. I want to get married in Paris or Maui this time and give our immediate family the option of joining us. However, upon our return, I would like to have a fairly large reception/celebration for family and friends... band, dancing, dinner... but very casual. Is this acceptable? And, I would like to register for gifts as well. Is registering considered bad manners? I know many of our guests will want to do something and, although grateful, I don't want to end up with 30 toasters. Many thanks!

Dear Second Time, but in Paris,

I'd rather be in either of those places right now :)

This is fine and should be fun. But, you would be responsible for paying for all of it. So, please stay within your budget.

Registering is fine and appropriate. Those who gave a gift to either of you before are not obligated to give this time, though.

Best wishes,
