     Pay or Tip a Judge?

We will be married at our county courthouse in judges chambers. I was told there will be a fee of $20 for court expenses which does not go to the judge. Is it appropriate to pay, or "tip", the judge for handling our ceremony? If so, how much? Thank you!

A judge is a public servant and should not be tipped. It would be unlawful for him/her to take it. You could offer a slice of cake or something from the heart.
