I read your February 2006 posting on re-marrying the same man. I am in the same situation and we are having a wedding and reception. We have worded the invitations using my daughter and his as hosting it with us (they really are helping me plan ALL of it) and we are paying for it too. My question is more about the celebration itself. We would like it to be ultra informal and use a theme for the party/reception. Is this in poor taste? We thought about a Hawaiian Luau as we are leaving for Kauai after the wedding, second honeymoon, I guess. My soon to be husband, again, likes the idea of shorts and sandals vs. suit and tie in June, outside. The kids do too. Your advice? Thanks, Family Again

Dear Family Again,
This is fine and most likely will be fun. Just relay the informality with the invitation first. It could be colorful and written in very informal language--no third person. Then you could include an enclosure that informs the guests about the theme and suggested attire.
