Second marriage - Private Ceremony w/ reception

My finance' and I are planning our second marriage. We want to have a small private family ceremony. Then we would like to host a reception for the remaining family members and friends. Can you please advise on the wording of the invitation to the reception that would not be defensive to all that were not invited to the ceremony.. Should we invite to a celebration rather than a reception?

Dear Reception Invitation,

It is quite common to invite guests to the reception only. So this is not a problem. Your invitation could look like this:

The pleasure of your company
is requested at the
wedding reception of
Bride
and
Mr. Groom
Date

Time

Location

(Optional: Black tie requested)

RSVP

Address

Please read more about wedding/reception invitation etiquette.

Best wishes,
