Whether to wear white when it's your second marriage
My fiancee and I are getting married in September at his church. We're sending out engraved invitations, and expect 100 guests. We will have a 5:00 pm wedding, with a dinner reception immediately following at the country club. We are 46 and this is the second wedding for us both. We are not having bridal showers, are not tossing a bouquet, doing the "garter" thing. We will have a wedding cake, a best man and a maid of honor, and his children as ring bearer and flower girl. I don't intend to wear a veil, but have found an elegent a-line gown, which is (horrors) white. Is it appropriate to wear white for a second wedding?

Congrats on your second marriage! White is a perfect color for an encore bride's wedding dress since white is regarded as a symbol of joy rather than purity or virginity. Pastels and ivory are also popular color choices for the second wedding dress. Second time brides should forgo a blusher veil that covers the face. This style is considered the traditional veiling option for 1st time brides and one of the only real DON'TS.
