Who pays for a second wedding?

We are planning a small church ceremony and reception in April. This is the second marriage for each of us and we each have teenage children. Who pays for the expenses of the wedding and reception?

Unless someone else hs offered to host this wedding for you I'm afraid that you and your fiance are responsible for those costs.

Even first time brides don;t have their parents paying for the entire wedding anymore. Those days of the bride moving from her parent's home to her husband's and the bride's parent's hosting a wedding are long gone.

Is it fair to ask my fiance' to pay a portion or even 1/2 of the wedding costs?

Speak with your intended and host a wedding the two of you can afford to pay for together. Unless someone has volunteered to help the cost should be the responsibility of the bridal couple.
