Wording wedding invitations when bride and groom have the same last name

I have a rather unusual problem. I am getting married next year to a man I have been with for 4 years. This is a second marriage for both of us. The problem is that he and my first husband have the same last name. I kept my married name when I divorced so my daughter would have the same last name as me. It was cute for us to have the same last name at first, but how do we word the invitations for this wedding. We live in the south but do not want to sound like brother and sister. Help!Crazy

Dear Iamchristyd,

This is a difficult one, as there really is nothing I can think of that you could alter. Both of your names have to be on the invitation. If everyone you are inviting knows you two, it shouldn't be a problem. If you feel that someone may be confused because they don't know that you two have the same last name, you could tell them.

I'm sorry that I couldn't think of any other alternative.

Best wishes,

Perhaps you could also use the maiden name such as:

Jane Maiden-MarriedName

Maybe that would help to make the names look a bit different.

But, I agree with Rebecca that those who know you will know that you are not related and wonlt think it's odd.

Good Luck,
