     bride's first, groom's second

Since this will be my first wedding (groom's second), is it appropriate for me to adhere to typical first-time wedding guidelines? Wearing white, large wedding, family giving me away? I will be 38 at the time of the wedding.

Yes, you can go ahead and enjoy almost all of those "first-time bride rules" however since this is your grooms second wedding please check with your clergy to be sure the service can be performed. For example, Roman Catholics cannot be married in the Catholic church if they've been divorced but they can if they get an annulment ot have been widowed.

Have fun planning!
