engagement 2nd time around

I'm a divorced mother of (3) young children. I have been dating and discussing marriage...he too has (3) young children. What is the proper etiquette for a 2nd marriage? Do you have a standard engagement and wear a ring to prepare the children for an upcoming marriage? Or do you take off and "just do it"?
