ettiquette for children in the wedding party

Between the two of us we have 8 children, 3 of whom will not be attending the wedding. The children that are attending are my daughter, 18, 3 of my sons, all 10, and his daughter, 12. My 18 year old will be standing as my Maid of Honor. Am I required to have his daughter stand with me as well. Our intention was to only have 1 attendant on each side, my maid of honor and his best man. Is it appropriate for the other children to attend in the pews?

Thank you

You are under no obligation to include any of the other children. However, be sure this is what your fiance wants as well.

Consider having a family unity candle lighting ceremony:

Unity Candle Ceremony

This ceremony will allow the entire family to feel involved.
