I received an invitation to a close friends wedding. This is a 2nd wedding for her and a 3rd for her fiance. They included a line stating "no gifts necessary" on the bottom of the informal invitation. I know that they really need stuff, and that she most likely included this because of the number of times they have been married. What is the appropriate response. Do we bring a gift, or not??

Re: [nzuider] gifts when "no gifts necessary" on invitation

Dear Friend,
They really shouldn't have included this information. Gifts are never mentioned on a wedding invitation.
When someone requests no gifts, we should honor it. However, if you really want to give her something, you may want to simply mail a gift card to her for her favorite restaurant. This is a harmless, but enjoyable gift.
