My youngest daughter is getting married for the second time. The first time she eloped and it was a big mistake. She and her fiance' would like to request monetary gifts, since she already had set up housekeeping the first time. I had told her that this would not be acceptable added to her invitation but I would like to know if there could be a way that this could be done for the wedding shower. I am not sure on the etiquette on this. Thank you so much for your help.

Re: [tinker] money preferred at second marriage

This would not be appropriate to include with invitations for any event. We should never tell guests what sort of gift to give. We can suggest (as with gift registries) and include these registry cards in the bridal shower invitation (but not with the wedding invitation).
