My fiance and I are getting married next month. It is going to be a small wedding just some friends and family. We moved recently and most of our friends and family live approximately 6 hours away. Is it proper as in a first marriage that we should pay for hotel accomodations for out of town guests? Does that change at all when it is a second marriage.

For first time or second time weddings the bride and groom usually pay for only the wedding attendants’ accommodations. Out-of-town guests, both relatives and friends, pay for their own accommodations. As a courtesy to these guests, facilities and costs should be researched by the bride and groom to ensure comfort, convenient location and reasonable price. Absolutely! Suggest an economy and luxury option for your guests. It is always best to ask the hotels to block out a certain number of rooms for your guests.
