     wedding rehearsal for second wedding

We are having a small second wedding with one attendant each and our kids. It will be in a church with approx 100 to 150 guests. The children are involved in the wedding. I know we should have a rehearsal, but is dinner needed and who pays if it is? We are paying for most of the wedding with help from our parents.

Please help,

Dear Tippytoes,

No your rehearsal dinner is not required but is a nice compliment to your attendants to be treated. The groom's parents normally accept this responsibility.

I completely agree. Except that with encore weddings the couple typically pays for the dinner if there is one. If you decide to have a rehearsal dinner, it doesn't have to be expensive.
