wording announcements for 2nd wedding not using bride's former married name

I am getting married in a private ceremony. This is the second wedding for both of us. We would like to send out announcements after we are married, however, I do not want to use my former married name on the announcements. I did not revert to my maiden name after the divorce because of my children, however, I would like to word the announcements so that my former name need not appear. Do you have any suggestions for the wording? Can I say Robert and Cathy Smith announce that they were married ..." ?

Dear Scotland,

Yes, you may use your new name, as that will be your name going forward. If your announcement is very formal, you would use Mr. and Mrs. instead of first names.

If you use first names, it would be: (optional--Mr. and Mrs.) Cathy and Robert Smith.

Best wishes,
