Transportation for guests before the wedding?

My friend and I are personal attendants for the bride and groom in an upcoming wedding. They have rented a bus to transport themselves, the wedding party, and other friends/family to the locations of the ceremony and reception. We have been asked to pick up any family and friends at the reception venue who want to drop off their cars beforehand and bring them to the place where the bus will pick them up. I have never been involved in a wedding before, but I thought the role of personal attendant focused on the bride/groom and their needs the day of the wedding, not their family and friends. We would appreciate any feedback, as we are uncertain how to proceed with the bride and groom, as we are not sure if this issue is our responsibility.

This is a new one to me and to add to the insult, there is an issue of liability. You are not licensed chauffeurs and could be sued should anyone get hurt while in your personal vehicle. I am guessing that they needed a name for goffer and Personal Attendant came to mind. Personally, I would ask for another way you can be of service without putting yourself in jeopardy.

Sounds like a really slimy way of asking you to do them a huge favor. I would definitely decline, and maybe just take the night off and be a guest. I think they've stretched the limits of decency on this one.
